The International Education Program

The International Education Program was a program involving 5 volunteering high school students from America working to help public elementary students at Minquan Elementary School in Taiwan read English children's books about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and providing advice for the children’s English skills through online teaching.

The International Education Program is over.

Volunteer Details

Volunteer Requirements:
(1) A high school student living in the U.S.
(2) Skills in reading, communicating, and writing with children

Volunteer Details:
- Volunteers will be teaching a total of 22 fifth grade students through online chats and meetings
- Volunteers will each be provided one unique book that they will need to have read by the time the program starts, and will need to provide feedback to the students that have been assigned to that book (4-5 students per volunteer)
- Volunteers will be communicating with the students primarily through SeeSaw, a learning platform app, and will be assigned a student teacher role over the students in that class. Volunteers will be invited to join the class as a student teacher before the program starts (recommended that volunteers take some time getting used to SeeSaw)
- Volunteers will also be using Google Meet in the beginnings of the program to meet and interact with the students
