The 2024 Taiwan English Summer Camp
Hosted by Mini Libraries and with the help of Educators for Impact, the 2024 Taiwan English Summer Camp was a volunteer-led campaign involving a total of 14 volunteers from the U.S. and Taiwan working at two different Taiwanese elementary schools, teaching disadvantaged students from 4th to 6th grade by working alongside them and encouraging them to speak English. Additionally, the campaign resulted in the donation of over 400 books to both schools. Through the efforts of the English-speaking volunteers, the goal of the summer camp was to provide the students a more inclusive English-speaking environment for them to learn in.
The 2024 Taiwan English Summer Camp is over.
Volunteers
About (Important!):
-
The volunteer campaign will be divided into three parts: Session 1, a travel trip and Session 2
-
Each Session will bring around 40 hours, so in total, you will receive 80 hours of volunteer hours
-
Travel Trip: A 2-3 day travel trip will be conducted during the weekend between the two sessions
-
-
Volunteers will need to work starting from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
-
Volunteers will need to lead about 5 students during the camp. This is an English summer camp, so we’ll need volunteers to mostly speak English during the camp to help students practice oral speaking
-
If you have any spare books, then please consider bringing them to the elementary schools to donate
